Liz Alig- Effortless Ethical Style

Liz Alig- Effortless Ethical Style

While I am technically a fashion blogger, I don't consider my style to be "high fashion." I enjoy a pair of heels and skinny jeans once in a while, but my day-to-day outfits consist of white shirts, jeans, and simple summer dresses. My style is casual, effortless, and simple. Lately I haven't spent much time putting outfits together in the morning, which is why I appreciate Liz Alig and their affordable, ethical, high-quality clothes I can wear again and again!

Ethical Clothing with Effortless Style

When Elizabeth of Liz Alig reached out to partner together, I couldn't have been more excited. I had been in search of new ethically made clothes that were simple, affordable, and perfect for everyday wear.

My favorite part about discovering new brands is reading all about how they got started and the story behind their brand. As I was browsing through the site, I wasn't at all surprised to discover the word "effortless" weaved throughout their mission, story, and mantra. Because that's exactly how I felt in the beautiful clothes I had received!

Liz Alig wants style to be simple and beautiful for those wearing the clothes, and fair to those who make the them. Each piece carried has it's own story, and it's guaranteed that the artisans who made it are not just treated fairly, but are valued as talented artists.

The Nela Dress

This dress is my new favorite by FAR! As soon as I received the package, I put the Nela dress on and have basically worn it once a week ever since. The dress is perfect for hot Arizona summers! It's beautiful, fits me perfectly, effortlessly, and is lightweight but not see-through!

Hand-made by Cambodian Artisans

Cambodia has a special place in my heart since I traveled there on a mission trip to help teach english and run a few VBS (Vacation Bible School) camps while I was in high school. The Nela Dress is made in a small production facility in Phnom Penh. Unlike most garment factories in Cambodia, this one pays fair wages, provides benefits, and the employees receive more paid holiday's than we do here in the States. This fabric is also repurposed- it was excess fabric from a nearby facility that would have otherwise gone in the landfill.

The Frida Top

The Frida Top is a boxy-fit tank shirt that has a beautiful unique pattern! It is also fairly lightweight, which is perfect for summer. This top pairs well with skinny jeans or a skirt, and also adds unique texture to layering (as displayed above)!

Made in Antigua, Guatamala

The Frida Top is made by a women's cooperative in Guatemala. This top provides women who would otherwise live in poverty with steady income through employment. The top is made by weaving two traditional Guatemalan materials together that are commonly used in the garment factories. Because they are so common, they can often be found in garment waste piles, so this shirt is made from recycled scraps (though you'd never know it by looking at it!).
