A Unique Business Model
Ever since the fast fashion model took over the industry, the ideas of artistry and handmade clothes have quickly begun to disappear. This is why it is so exciting to discover companies that respect the art of making clothes, and work closely with skilled artisans to do so (if you don't know what fast fashion is, click here to read more).
Casa Flor Designs is a company focused on reducing waste, working closely with skilled artisans from Guatemala, and honoring every'body'. Their clothes are all made to order, which means the fabric isn't cut until you've made your purchase; what a unique process! Casa Flor partners with experts in the crafts of weaving, design, and sewing to create their unique garments. I had to wait about 4 weeks for my beautiful Laura top because of this process, but it was SO worth it! It fits beautifully and I feel great in it.
Perhaps my favorite part of Casa Flor's business model is that they are dedicated to becoming more ethical with each clothing line they release. They are starting with their highest priority (fair wages), and working toward incorporating more ethical practices from there.
"It was the deep love and connection we felt to the makers in Guatemala that led to Casa Flor. We start with fair wages for all of the makers and will continue to incorporate more ethical business practices as we grow. Our goal is to ship plastic free, incorporate 100% organic cotton and recycled elements in our textiles, utilize more natural dyes, produce less than 10% waste, and decrease our carbon footprint."

Now let's talk outfit details! (Confession- I've already put this outfit on repeat like 3 times).
I absolutely adore every piece of this outfit! I've featured these Eileen Fisher heels before, and they're still the most comfortable pair of heels I've ever owned! As fall quickly approaches, this FashionABLE bag won't be around for much longer, so act fast (I suggest a leather conditioner as well).
